Let the weekend begin!

We are preparing to set off on a weekend adventure. Part vacation, part celebration of life, part 10th anniversary gift...just a bunch of fun! I'm ready to gaze upon my beautiful husband, see his stress float away and to have that winning smile plastered on his face.  Pictures, oh yes, there will be pictures.

When we bought our house nine years ago the goal was to have a place where family and friends could gather. The house isn't fancy but the yard is big. We envisioned cook outs with good food, fun games and a lot of laughter!   We have hosted summer gatherings every year since we moved in... except last year. The mood around the LD was very different then. It was way too quiet and serious, for my taste. 

 As we enter the July 4 holiday weekend I'm beyond excited to finally have the house full of the people that I love, once again.  I'll get emotional about it before anyone arrives. I'll be all smiles and laughs by the time everyone gets there. 😃

If you are in the area, come on by. All are welcome. Bring a dish and a chair!

Let's talk summer projects

It's summer and that means it's time to talk projects. I don't know if we will get to everything but we will document, what we are able to do, here. So, let's get to the project wish list.
We have completed a few things from the list already - yeah us!

• Mulch!   *Technically, we have a little more to do.
• Replacement fire pit  If we get our pavilion built this summer, this will be temporary. We're planning a fireplace! Stay tuned.

I'll blog the projects and the event planning - well, any part of it that might be of interest to someone with nothing else to do. 

Even with everything that was going on last year we were able to get a few things done so we're expecting big fun this year!
